“But we will draw the curtain and show you the picture.” Shakespeare’s “Twelfth Night” Performance Alert!

12thnightTwelfth Night is being performed at the State Theatre in New Brunswick, NJ this weekend, and my 12-year old daughter and I have tickets!

As I’ve said before, viewing the performance of a Shakespearean play is essential to a better understanding of the language, plot, characterizations, setting, among other literary devices of this genre.  To put it plainly:  the plays were meant to be performed and viewed, not read.

My daughter’s 7th grade class might be reading Twelfth Night this year, so I hope that this performance will enrich her appreciation of the play.

For anyone in the NJ/NY/PA area, there is still limited ticket availability for tonight and tomorrow (March 1st and 2nd) via the State Theatre.  (link attached)
